Emergency shopfront repairs

Break-ins, vehicle impact and storm damage made safe and secure the same day.

Emergency shopfront repair is the work done in the first few hours after a shopfront is damaged: clearing broken glass, making the opening safe, securing the premises so it can be locked, and recording the damage for your insurer. The permanent repair — new glass, a new door or a straightened frame — follows once parts are measured and made.

What does emergency shopfront repairs cover?

  • Smashed display glass and door glass after a break-in or ram-raid
  • Doors forced off their pivots or left unable to lock
  • Frames bent by vehicle impact or attempted entry
  • Storm-damaged fascias, transoms and glazing beads
  • Temporary boarding, and the permanent glazing that replaces it

How do I know I need it?

  • Glass is cracked, crazed or missing
  • The door will not close, latch or lock
  • A frame or mullion has visibly moved
  • Your insurer needs the premises secured before a claim proceeds

How is the repair carried out?

An engineer attends with boarding, fixings and basic door hardware so the site can be made secure on the first visit. We photograph and measure the damage at the same time, which means glass and parts can be ordered straight away and you have a written record to pass to your insurer.

Questions about emergency shopfront repairs

How quickly can someone attend an emergency shopfront repair?

We aim to have an engineer on the way as soon as your call is taken. Attendance time depends on where you are and how many call-outs are already running, and we will tell you a realistic arrival window on the phone rather than a guess.

Will you deal with my insurance company?

We give you the photographs, measurements and a written quotation your insurer normally asks for. The claim itself stays between you and your insurer, but we can speak to a loss adjuster if they need technical detail.

Can you replace the glass on the same visit?

Occasionally, for small standard panes. Most shopfront glass is toughened or laminated to size, so it has to be made after measuring; the premises is boarded or temporarily glazed until the new glass is ready.

What happens next?

  1. Tell us what's broken

Call, chat or send the form with a photo if you can. We ask the questions that matter for pricing.

  2. Make safe first

For emergencies an engineer secures the premises — boarding, temporary locking or isolating a shutter.

  3. Fixed price

We measure, identify parts and send a written fixed price before any permanent work.

  4. Repair & sign-off

The repair is completed, tested with you and the site left clean, with photos for your records.
