Shopfront lock & shootbolt repairs
Deadlocks, hookbolts, cylinders and shootbolts repaired or upgraded.
Shopfront lock repair is fixing or replacing the locking hardware on commercial doors — narrow-stile deadlocks and hookbolts, euro cylinders, and the shootbolts that lock the inactive leaf of a double door into the floor and head. Aluminium shop doors use slim locks that are specific to commercial systems.

- Shootbolts that no longer engage top and bottom
- Keeps and strike plates out of line after the door has dropped
- Upgrading cylinders to anti-snap and restricted-key types
How do I know I need it?
- The key turns but the bolt does not move
- You have to lift or push the door to lock it
- The second leaf of a double door rattles when locked
- Keys have been lost or a staff member has left
How is the repair carried out?
We check alignment first — many 'broken' locks are sound but fighting a dropped door. Where the lock body has failed, we match the backset and case size so the replacement fits the existing cut-out in the stile.
Questions about shopfront lock & shootbolt repairs
Why won't my shop door lock?
The most common cause is the door dropping so the bolt no longer meets the keep. Worn cylinders and broken lock bodies are the next most likely causes.
Can you change the locks after staff leave?
Yes. Swapping the euro cylinders is usually enough and is quick to do. Restricted-key cylinders stop copies being cut without authorisation.
Do you open locked-out shop doors?
We can attend when a door will not open, but we will ask for proof that you are entitled to access the premises before any entry work is carried out.
